once you develop a consistent practice, you get used to an elevated level of functioning and when practice is interrupted, it can be scary -- like -- what if you lose your normal baseline
how it really goes I'm finding is the inertia of your practice can carry you a good long ways before you start to feel out of whack then I'm like why do I feel out of whack? how can I feel back on track again! and I'm like oh yeah duh:
I'll just follow this trail of candles back to my cozy hut in the clearing over there and make some tea to share with my imaginary friends
then maybe let's sit quietly for a bit
