reclaiming rite, 1 lunation

This morning, I completed a month of daily practice of the Reclaiming Rite described by Aidan Wachter in Six Ways and Changeling.

The Reclaiming Rite is pretty simple. Get centered. Purify and sanctify yourself and the space with rosewater and incense. Speak 3 repetitions of 3 charms:

the first, forgiving yourself for your failures (past, present, future)

the second, recalling your power, whether taken from you or given up or just lost somehow

the third, recognizing yourself as a divine manifestation, blessing yourself, and thanking your allies

I do feel more at peace with my failings. Less tormented by memory of stupid mistakes of the past, more confident that the mistakes I make now or will make in the future will work out. I'll take responsibility for them and learn from them. It will be OK.

I also feel more reconciled with my own power. There is a confidence here, too, but it is new and less obvious than the lack of pain from regret/fear of failure. It needs exercise.

It has been good to express the gratitude I feel toward my allies. I feel this a lot. It's good to say it out loud. Today I thanked them all by name for their presence and friendship, out loud and in writing.

Feels good. This was a worthwhile working. Will probably revisit it periodically in the future.
